Dear Friends,

During staff meeting today at TWR we watched the monthly video TWR Family Focus.  It featured video clips from many of TWR’s partners and workers showing how they are adapting their work during this COVID 19 crisis. I have heard from many of you as well—thank you for sharing your stories of your creativity in ministry! Some cannot get the prayer calendars out by mail and so are emailing them.  Others are recording audio prayer calendars through their phone and then posting it on Social Media. Many of you are ministering through your texts and phone calls to those around you. Thank you! God is so blessed when his children minister to others even through very difficult times.

As I have been reading in my Bible lately, God has been speaking such a word of COMFORT to me. I’d love to share some encouragement from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Father, you have such a heart of mercy and compassion. In our suffering, you see each one of us, filling us with your comfort and bringing strength to our souls. May this overflow in us so that we will encourage our lonely neighbors, console those who have lost loved ones, share our supplies with those in need, and provide real support to exhausted health care workers. Father, comfort and fill us so that we may practice active compassion each day.

And it is a message that we all need right now, and one that we can share with the world. It is so reassuring to know that even in times of difficulty and pressure,  we have a God who is present,  compassionate and comforting. I think of David’s 23rd Psalm where he writes, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”

Please know that our team is praying for each of you. We care how you are doing and pray for God’s holy protection, provision and strength to stand through these trying days. Please let us know how we can support and pray for you.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
